About Our Legal Fees
At Witzel & Zoeller Lawyers PC, we treat every client as an individual person, not just a fee. We feel each client is important and we work hard to take care of them and give them the individual attention they deserve. Our fees are different for every case.
How we set our fees and how to hire us
Our fees are different for every case. Generally, the more work we do on your case, the higher the fee will be. The more complex the case, the higher the fee will be. Federal court cases have higher fees than state court cases.
Our Fees for Cases in Criminal Law, Family Law, and Personal Injury
Criminal law fees: We charge a retainer fee to take your case. We charge another fee if we need to get your case ready for your trial (the trial preparation fee). These fees pay for our work on your case. All other fees, such as subpoenas, transcripts, private investigators, experts, lab testing, discovery, transport, etc., are not covered by your retainer fee. We charge by the hour and the hours billed are applied to your retainer fee. There are no surprises or hidden fees—additional fees are always discussed with the client in advance. You are paying for experienced, meticulous, and aggressive attorneys.
Family law fees: We charge a retainer fee to take your case. We charge by the hour and the hours billed are applied to your retainer fee. Family law case fees are from $2,500 to $5,000 for the retainer fee and hourly fees of $200 per hour. These fees pay for our work on your case. All other fees are not covered by your retainer fee.
Personal injury law and medical malpractice law fees: Personal injury and medical malpractice case fees are either one-third of your net recovery (after all costs) or $5,000 retainer fee billed against at $200 per hour.
